2024. május 12-én, vasárnap késő délután új helyszínre vándorol ⏺︎"VISIONS TO ANOTHER DIMENSION" ⏺︎ című csoportos tárlatunk, amely összesen 8 alkotóművész munkáját mutatja be.
Közülünk vannak akik évek óta ismerik egymást, vannak akik csak a tavalyi fesztiválszezon során ismerkedtek meg - de egy biztos, ami munkáinkat ihleti az igenis hasonló és összekapcsolódik.
A kiállítás a Szabad Bisztró új egységében, a Szabad Új Helyen lesz, amely a 8. kerület, Víg utca 30. szám alatt található.
Habár megnyitót külön nem szervezünk, de az installálást követően szívesen várunk mindenkit egy kötetlen beszélgetésre, hisz sokunkat megtaláljátok még ott az este folyamán.
Illetve a rákövetkező héten is esedékes, hogy tartunk egy élőfestést /tárlatvezetést - de erről még később értesítünk Titeket - kövessétek a bejegyzéseket az eseménynél.
A kiállítás megtekinthető közel egy hónapig, a Szabad Új Hely nyitvatartási idejében.

2024. április 11-én, csütörtökön 19 órakor nyílik kiállítás "VISIONS TO ANOTHER DIMENSIONS" címmel a Gödör Klub galéria terében. A megnyitót egy rövidke beszéddel és muzsikával fogjuk fűszerezni.
A tárlat összesen 7 festőművész munkáját mutatja be. Közülük vannak akik évek óta ismerik egymást, van akik csak a tavalyi fesztiválszezon során ismerkedtek meg - de egy biztos, ami munkáikat ihleti az igenis hasonló és összekapcsolódik.
My first ever SOLO exhibition!

Helka egy fiatal magyar művész, aki jelenleg Bécsben él.
Textilművészeti képzésének köszönhetően gyakran dolgozik olyan műalkotásokon, amelyek textilanyagokból vagy más elemekből, de textiltechnikával, például kézi varrással vagy szemétből való szövéssel készülnek.
A covid kitörésekor azonban egy újabb médium és technika felfedezésére vágyott és a festészet felé fordult. Az absztrakt vagy nonfiguratív festészeti formák helyett inkább a konkrét narratív képek létrehozása vonzotta - egyfajta szürrealista stílusban. Már gyerekkorában is sokat firkálgatott tömegjeleneteket, későbbi éveiben, az iskolában pedig egyre abszurdabb és groteszkebb figurákat kezdett rajzolni, amelyek az iskolai unalomnak köszönhetően bőségesen szerepeltek a füzetében. Ez adta az ötletet, hogy ugyanígy vászonra is készítsen hasonló festményeket, viszont nem golyóstollal, hanem akrilfestékkel, színessé téve a káoszt.
A téma sikerének köszönhetően azóta is termékenyen folytatja az élettel teli, illusztrációszerű, szürrealista festmények készítését. Ezek a jelenetek általában politikai témákat dolgoznak fel, vagy személyes problémákat és élményeket rejtenek. Az alkotás folyamatának másik különlegessége, hogy a tervek nagyon is szabad folyásúak - a figurák úgy születnek, mint régen az iskolapadban, egy olyan lelkiállapotban, amikor a művész kikapcsolja az agyát, és hagyja, hogy a kéz magától alkosson. Ily módon a művész egyfajta terápiát is nyer a saját művészetének megalkotásán keresztül.
A megnyitót Keresztes Patrik kortárs táncművész fűszerezi meg.

FEM GARAGE Group exhibition
The Highbrow Institute is happy to announce the upcoming Exhibition at the Garage Grande with over 50 participation artists from all around the world.
In FEM GARAGE we want to show womanhood and femininity in all its facets. We want to bring rolling pin throwing feminists, esoteric yoni ceremony leaders and masculinized suit-wearing Merkels to one table. We want to create spaces for food stamp collecting suburban moms, hardcore butch lesbians, hysterical crybabies, sugar mommies, and ladyboys. From latex-wearing dominas, neurotic housewives, bitches, witches, and virgins, we want to show everything, as well the things that lie in between.

1st Edition: DTR - Dress To Represent

"DTR is a mainly fashion oriented social event focused on providing a platform to like-minded creatives and Vienna communities at large to share experiences, exchange ideas, spark a dialogue about pressing issues like individual identities, sexuality, feminism, integration and cultural fusion, the fight against racism etc." [...]

Group exhibition
The exhibition "glokal_normal" will be on display at the Institute of Art History (Garnisongasse 13, Altes AKH/Hof 9) from 07.10. - 17.11.2022.
Was macht einen Ort aus? Sind es die Form und die Elemente, die ihn strukturieren? Sind es die persönlichen und emotionalen Berührungspunkte, die mich mit einem bestimmten Ort verbinden? Welche lösen ein Wohlgefühl, welche Unbehagen aus?
Ein Ort kann für manche Menschen Vertrautheit, Geborgenheit und Heimat bedeuten, für andere wiederum Unzugehörigkeit, Entfremdung und Ausgrenzung.
In der dritten Ausstellung “glokal_normal” von DIE | AULA sollen die präsentierten Werke einen künstlerischen Zugang zu diesen Gegebenheiten eröffnen. Die Themen lassen sich im weiten Spektrum “Umwelt” verorten und reichen vom Bezug zur Örtlichkeit Wien hin zur Beschäftigung mit der Umweltkrise. So spiegeln sie nicht nur die Mannigfaltigkeit des Begriffs wider, sondern geben auch ein Gefühl für die Auswirkungen uns doch so vertrauter alltäglicher Prozesse.

In the midst of the drought of realism in the Viennese painting scene, 4 young artists, Helka Ivanyi, Aliz Boglárka Nagy, Judit Flamich und Nóra Pálmai present their works in collaboration with Walter Hachleitner. Despite their different themes, approaches and styles, they all strive towards the same goal: to capture humanity in pictures. Nothing can create boundaries for art, so the highly emotional Hungarian human painting travels to the 18th district and fills the room with dreams, eroticism, laughter and ecstasy.
Free entry, but exclusively following the 3G rules! Vaccination passes and valid tests will be checked upon arrival.

IT ALL BEGAN SECRETLY/TITKOSAN KEZDŐDÖTT exhibition

The first stage of the IT ALL BEGAN SECRETLY exhibition series is going to happen in the city centre of Budapest, between 16th December and 15th January, on the walking route connecting Astoria, Kálvin square and Ráday street. The artworks are going to be shown in the windows of galleries, restaurants and theatres.
We recommend visiting the exhibiton in daylight because lighting is not guaranteed in every shopwindow.
The exhibition is opened by József Tillman, university professor, philosopher.
(Due to the regulations caused by covid-19, there will be no opening ceremony in the traditional format. The video of the opening will be published on the Facebook event's page.)

"Recently, several universities in Hungary have undergone a model shift, but in many cases the process and the board of trustees of these institutions don’t guarantee the autonomy they desire. The shift in model doesn’t necessarily mean a change in autonomy: the foundational form could even increase the institutional space for action. Its core aim would be for the universities to be independent from the national budget, for instance to be able to purchase freely, not just through public procurement. The advantage of this operational structure would be the easier incorporation of the given institution’s research, into applied developments. If we look around the world, it’s clear that top notch universities are autonomous and it’s a matter of prestige for a country to see their higher education institutions ranked well.
The level of scientific, artistic and educational results that can be achieved if the new board overwrites the internal decisions of the university, thereby violating the university’s autonomy and the constitutional value of autonomy, is debatable.
But what does this often used but rarely clarified term even mean? According to the European University Association, we can’t talk about autonomy, only autonomies, as an institution can be independent in organizational, financial, personnel and academic terms and the extent of autonomy is constructed by these four factors.
With our contemporary shopwindow-exhibition, ‘It all began secretly’ we explore the issues of the model shift, the independence of arts and the loss of freedom of control in higher education.
We, the Independent Association of HUFA Students announced an open call in October, with the plan to showcase the winning artworks in galleries, cafés and restaurants. Due to the restrictions caused by the pandemic we had to adapt to a new layout; instead of our original plan, we have created a walking route for the viewer to stroll through, by placing the artistic reflections in shop windows, to reflect and be examined upon. "

For this 6th edition of AAP Magazine, we received a record number of submissions. It was wonderful to discover so many great works and compelling pictures. Clearly black and white photography continues to hold a prominent place in our hearts and imaginations! The selected portfolios all have different approaches to the unifying theme of black and white photography. Using film, digital photography or even Xrays, deep blacks or light grays, each photographer showcases a unique point of view.
